From Ally

I'm not too sure yet of what we can offer as undergrads in terms of the legal advocacy that was discussed, however, I was thinking we could put together a website with a comprehensive overview of scholarships, fellowships, grants, career opportunities post law school etc to give people considering a career in public interest law an idea of what is available to them. Thoughts?

  1. Hi Ally,

I like the idea of a compiling information about public interest life for prospective law students. I also think that it would be really important to include information about the student organizations and groups at various law schools which are currently working to foster public interest life. I think there would be a lot of value in having a Public Interest Resource Center through which these organizations could share information and best practices about their efforts at their respective schools.

  2. I agree - When I'm trying to figure out Columbia stacks up to other schools, I find it incredibly difficult to get a good comparison of the different resources. I think it would be helpful both for prospective students and for the purpose of shaming schools into improving their public interest offerings if we could offer a clear comparison across schools.
